Lodge System Of Masonic Education (LSOME)

Good News!
The New LSOME DVD and books have been sent to all of our Lodges and they are fantastic! The professional production values and updated content offer candidates and new Brothers an exciting introduction to Masonic Education. We hope yuor Lodge is employing this program and presents it in the Lodge for all of your members to become familiar with. Please don't forget to order extra books to give to your new Brothers and remember that the Walk About Program should be presented after every Third Degree.

Purpose:
The Lodge System of Masonic Education (LSOME) provides Masonic Education to ensure that every candidate for Masonry is properly instructed in the basic fundamentals, symbolism and history of the three degrees.

Overview:
Upon receipt of a petition, the Master appoints an Interview Team/Committee consisting of one current Officer, one New Brother, one Past Master and one experienced Brother. Either the Past Master or experienced Brother will continue as the Lodge Mentor. As soon as practical after the petition is read in Lodge, the Interview Committee meets in an informal atmosphere with the candidate and his family at his home. The first section of the video will be shown. Subsequent sections of the video will be shown in one of the team member’s home within two weeks after each degree. In addition, LSOME 5 (Walk-About) will be given in the Lodge room at the next available meeting after the candidate becomes a Master Mason. A detailed outline of the LSOME program is found in the 24 Inch Gauge Masonic Resource Guide “Mentoring Program and The Lodge System of Masonic Education” Phase I & II.
